Paradise Poker is a part of Sporting Bet PLC, a large company handling different kinds of betting games, mostly sports betting. From such a large organization you should expect a very smoothly running poker game. Well, this is only partly the case.
Transaction problems
To start with a few negative points of interest: in order to make a deposit or withdraw cash, you have to go from the software to the webpage, and everytime you have to login again. Once we did manage to make a deposit, using the Paradise Poker website, we had to manually transfer the funds as they had been inserted into the Sportsbook (the sport betting) part of the software. When we requested a cashout, the link for cashout went to the deposit page of the website and we had to specifically search for the possibility of cashing out.
Service
Service is ok. They do offer a toll-free phone number for many countries, but our e-mail had a response time of 1.5 days. Some of Paradise Poker's competitors look a bit more eager to satisfy their customers. Maybe this is due to the fact that this room is part of a large betting company as well.
Very inviting and entertaining
There is quite some good news as well. The starting bonus is amonst the highest around, with 100% bonus up to $500! While playing, you will find quite some nice promotional activities as well, such as freerolls and player points tournaments (which can be earned by playing a lot) with surprisingly high prizes.
Paradise Poker offers a lot of variety, both in tables and games. This should keep you occupied for quite some time. Rakes are very low as well. Limits are from 5ct for cash tables (up to $2000!) and 10ct upwards for micro tourneys.
So it looks like, although their financial system isn't very user friendly, they do offer a lot of fun while not creating the appearance of being a money leecher, like some other rooms do.
Pros
- A lot of variety in games, tables and limits
- Fast payment/deposit transactions with a lot of options and methods (online & offline).
- Low overhead cost for the player
- Nice promotional activities
Cons
- Website and software are not 'n sync
- Financial transactions are hard to accomplish, due to a very user unfriendly system
